How HSAs Work

An HSA is a great way to save money and invest in your future. This account has a triple tax advantage—you set aside money into the account tax-free, the money grows tax-free once it’s in the account, and when you take your money out, you spend it tax-free on eligible health care expenses.

START IT

  • Contributions to an HSA are tax-free for you—whether they come from you or the company
  • Entegris contributes $500 for Employee Only coverage and $1,000 for all other coverage
  • Entegris contributions to your HSA are made at the beginning of each quarter
  • You can make additional contributions up to IRS limits each calendar year

Build IT

  • You can invest your account in a variety of fund options from Fidelity
  • Any invested earnings have the potential to grow tax-free when used for qualified healthcare expenses
  • You can choose how much to keep in cash for current expenses and how much to invest for future healthcare needs

Use IT

  • If you choose, you can withdraw your money tax-free at any time, as long as you use it for qualified healthcare expenses (see IRS Publication 502)
  • You can use your HSA to pay for eligible medical, prescription drug, dental, and vision expenses for yourself and your eligible dependents
  • Funds can be used today or saved and reimbursed later for qualified expenses incurred after your HSA was established

Keep IT

  • You can also keep your account for future eligible health care expenses
  • Unused money in your HSA will roll over to the next plan year, earn interest, and grow tax-free over time
  • If you choose, you can set an amount to keep in cash for medical expenses and invest the remainder to increase your tax-free earnings potential
  • All of the money in your HSA is yours (including Entegris contributions) even if you leave the Company, change health plans, or retire

If you elect the HSA, Entegris will contribute to your account, and you can also contribute money on a pre-tax basis through payroll deductions. You are not required to contribute any funds to receive the Entegris contribution. However, you must have an open and active HSA account with Fidelity.

The chart below shows how contributions can add up relative to IRS limits:

Employee + Spouse, Employee + Child(ren), or Family coverage

Entegris contributions*

Maximum IRS limit for 2026

(includes Entegris contributions)

Catch-up contributions if age 55 or older

Additional $1,000

Additional $1,000

* For newly eligible employees, the Entegris contributions will be prorated based on the effective date of your HSA. You must open an account in order to receive the Entegris contributions.

Please note: If you elect the HSA, IRS regulations don’t allow you or your covered spouse to contribute to a Health Care FSA at the same time, in the same plan year. You also cannot be enrolled in other health coverage or be claimed as a dependent on someone else’s tax return. You may enroll in the Limited Purpose FSA to pay for dental and vision expenses.

If you enroll in the HDHP Option 1 or the HDHP Option 2, you will receive instructions from Fidelity about how to open your HSA to receive Entegris contributions.

You can increase or decrease your annual election at any time by updating your election amount at your Health & Insurance tile on www.NetBenefits.com.

Funds in your HSA can be used to pay for eligible health care expenses, including medical care not covered under the HDHP Option 1 or Option 2, as well as out-of-pocket costs like annual deductibles and coinsurance for you and your eligible dependents.
